We’re raising £5,000 to support Treemendously Wild CICs work to connect children and adults to nature and develop better physical and mental wellbeing.

At Treemendously Wild Cic we believe in supporting children and adults to connect to nature and develop greater physical and mental wellbeing.

Treemendously Wild is set up for children and adults in a private woodland, providing a safe environment for people of all abilities and backgrounds to learn new skills and develop greater physical and mental wellbeing.

Treemendously Wild started out with me (Helen Clarke) doing freelance forest school sessions but I believe accessing the outdoors to support your physical and mental wellbeing isn't a luxury. All children and adults of all ages, abilities, needs and backgrounds should be able to access sessions and workshops. That's where the CIC came in, Treemendously Wild became a Cic in June 2022.

What is a CIC? A community interest company (CIC) is a type of company, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good. CICs are set up with all the flexibility and certainty of the company form, but with special features to ensure they are working for the benefit of the community.

We therefore hope to use donations and grants to support our work with the local community.

    • School – "Forest School led by Helen was such a great experience for the students and for the adults. First of all, Helen is so enthusiastic about what she is doing, and she passes it onto the children. She shares her knowledge about nature and survival, making it so much fun! At the same time, she sets up challenges that push the children to use their creativity and imagination. They also get to practice their teamwork skills. They learn how to work together to achieve the goal and find out how important it is. It is fascinating to watch this process. All those activities let us, teachers, find out so much more about our students. They all are getting the opportunity to display their strengths, skills, abilities, struggles etc. Each of our children look forward to taking part in Forest School every week. They see it as a real treat. " 😊
